Light cream (in the United States) is a type of cream that contains between 18 and 30 precent milkfat. Light cream is sometimes called "table" or "coffee" cream. Light cream lacks enough fat to whip, but can be added to soups and sauces to give them body.

Light cream can give body and soften alcohol flavors in cocktails, though care should be taken with adding acid ingredients to any milk product.
