1 1⁄2 oz Añejo rum, El Dorado 12 (A VSOP Rhum Agricole is great, too)
3⁄4 oz Cynar
Instructions

Stir with ice, strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish (or an orange twist).

Notes

Jason Wilson suggests an aged rhum agricole instead of the El Dorado 12, which also works great

  • not in the Rolodex yet
  • Made it with El Dorado 8. The rum is the star of the show—its brown sugar qualities are only enhanced by the caramel of the Cynar, but the vermouth lightens it quite a bit.
  • Tastes like an smooth & herbal demerara rum, really great, El dorado flavors are still there — ★★★★
