Combier is a producer of liqueurs based in Saumur, in the heart of the Loire Valley of France. Combier was founded in the 1830's by Jean-Baptiste Combier and his wife, who was a confectioner by trade. Their first product, an orange liqueur, was invented in 1834 by combining sweet and bitter orange peels, herbs and spices, and alcohol. This was the first Triple Sec.
Today, Combier makes three products that are available in the United States: their Triple Sec, a cherry liqueur called Roi Rene Rouge, and Royal Combier, which is a cognac based orange and herb flavored liqueur.
