Whipper Snapper Oregon Whiskey is a brand of whiskey made by Tad Seestedt of Ransom Spirits in Sheridan Oregon. Whipper Snapper is pot-distilled, and is a blend of two separate spirit runs: one effective a "white dog" corn whiskey, and one a blend of malted and unmalted barley. These are blended, and aged in a mix of French Pinot Noir barrels, and new and used American whiskey barrels for between six months and two years. For each bottling, eight barrels are chosen and blended together, with a typical finished product being 79% corn and 21% malt whiskey. It is bottled at 88 proof.
Whipper Snapper is golden brown in color and clear. It has the pretty, cooked cereal aroma of Scotch at first, but quickly turns sweeter, with the corn whiskey providing sweetness and a light touch to the finish.
