Van der Hum is a tangerine and spice flavored liqueur made by the KWV cooperative in South Africa. Van der Hum is pot still brandy based, and flavored with herbs, spices, and naartjes, a tangerine native to South Africa.
Van der Hum's distribution is spotty at best -- it does seem to be available, but difficult to find. As of 5/11, the US distributor for the KWV portfolio is 57 Main Street Wine Company.
Van der Hum is a coppery-golden color and clear. It has strong aromas of tangerines backed by honey and spice notes. It is bottled at 50 proof.
