1 1⁄2 oz Tequila
1 1⁄2 oz Grapefruit juice
1⁄4 oz Turmeric (tea, see note)
1 1⁄2 oz Soda water (to top)
1 twst Grapefruit peel (as garnish)
Instructions

Add all the ingredients into shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Top with the soda water. Garnish with a grapefruit peel.

Notes

To make the cinnamon syrup, toast and break up two stick of cinnamon. In a medium saucepan, add cinnamon, 4 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, cover and let stand for 20 minutes, strain.

To make the turmeric tea, add 1 tsp turmeric powder and 2 cups of water to a medium saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain.

  • Flavors are harmonious, and the turmeric intriguing, but it's far too much cinnamon syrup. I ended up adding ~½ oz lime juice for balance, and it's still very sweet.
