2 oz Apple brandy, Lairds Bonded
1⁄2 oz Cinnamon syrup (semi-rich)
1⁄4 oz Walnut Liqueur, Nux Alpina
1 ds Cardamom bitters
1 rinse Allspice Dram, St Elizabeth
1 twst Orange peel
Instructions
Rinse old-fashioned glass with allspice dram and add remaining liquid ingredients. Add ice and stir until chilled. Express orange swath and garnish.

Aiming for a "Christmas-in-a-glass" old-fashioned variation that would work as written, but also accommodate all of my Wisconsin friends' inclinations to add club soda (or lemon-lime soda) to their old fashioneds...

I was hosting a holiday party and wanted to recapture something of an old-fashioned recipe that I made several years ago using a friend's homemade apple butter.
