A Spontaneous Libation for your Consideration

No Mint Bittered Cynar Julep

Posted by Dan. Created by Chris Amirault, eGullet.

1 oz Cynar
1⁄2 oz Branca Menta
1⁄2 oz Demerara syrup (scant)
1 sli Lime (end slice, squeezed, turned inside out)
Instructions

Stir with ice and strain over fresh ice. Squeeze lime slice over drink -- like it's a twist, not a wedge, with skin out -- and drop it in.

Notes

Bitter haters, beware. Bitter lovers, I offer you love & happiness.

Tasty, wished I had read the note and backed off the punt e mes a tad. I miss the jammyness ofnthe classic carpano.

Published & curated to add establishment where it was created, approximate year, and to reword some of the history to avoid word-for-word copying from a portion of the reference.

Used Solera and it was delicious, unctuous and raisiny with the scotch at the finish.

Cut the mint syrup back to 2/3 oz and was still a touch too sweet, but nice nonetheless
