1 1⁄2 oz Bourbon
1⁄4 oz Allspice Dram
1 twst Lemon peel (as garnish)
Instructions

Build in a DOF, add ice and stir. Garnish.

Notes

Personally, I find stirring in a glass a pain in the butt. In the future I would mix it in a mixing glass and strain it.

Curated to update earliest known date for this cocktail as 2019 per https://mixedinla.com/2019/02/23/base-camp/ The recipe was published in Imbibe magazine in Nov. 2020.

I agree with the note about building this in the glass being an unnecessary pain unless one is trying to make a show of it. There are some bitters-dripped-on-sugar-cube (followed by muddling the sugar cube) Old Fashioned riffs and recipes that make sense for this, but I would rather pour this one over a cube, then garnish.
