2 oz Brandy (Or bourbon)
3 ds Bitters, Angostura
1 twst Lemon peel (long spiral, set in glass)
3 oz Ginger ale
Instructions

Build in an ice-filled collins glass. The lemon twist should be long and loopy. Add bourbon or brandy, top with ginger ale.

Cocktails with Lots of Non-potable Bitters

Many of the definitive cocktails from both vintage and modern times are held together by non-potable bitters - infusions of various barks, roots, spices, and other flavoring agents that were traditionally developed as medicine. Before Prohibition (but after the cocktail had been well-established), this usually meant Angostura, Peychaud's, Boker's, or orange bitters, which were key ingredients in drinks like the Manhattan, the Sazerac, and - despite what Winston Churchill said - the Martini.

    A touch sweet. If I were to remake this again, I would do 1/2 oz orgeat and 1/2 oz Cynar. Made me think of the Turnbuckle albeit with different proportions and different tropical note (pineapple vs. passion).

    Read the list of liquors and thought "no way will that taste good". I was wrong. Maybe a tad too sweet, but ten out of ten, would recommend.

    I've made this many times before finding it here. I just called it a white negroni riff, but I guess it actually existed before me. It's my go to "lazy" drink whenever I have Lillet. Always hits the spot.
