3⁄4 oz Bourbon
3⁄4 oz Applejack, Lairds
3⁄4 oz Lemon juice
1⁄2 oz Campari

Combine with ice, shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Approximated measurments.

Created for President Harry S. Truman. It signifies Truman's homestate of Missouri and the Democratic Party mascot, the donkey (the mule is a hybrid of a male donkey and female horse).

  • I followed a slightly Dif recipe. 3/4 oz... all changed to 1oz. Rest is the same. Pretty good. Made in honor of Chiefs on Super Bowl. — ★★★★

Tasty. I could see adapting this into a tall drink with rocks and soda.

However, the Democratic party symbol is a donkey not a mule.

Touché.  I have updated my previous error.  Cheers.
