1 oz Apfelkorn, Berentzen Apfelkorn
3⁄4 oz Barbados Rum (Aged; I used Doorley's 12)
3⁄4 oz Rye (100-proof)
3⁄4 oz Fino sherry
1⁄4 oz Bénédictine
1 ds Bitters, Angostura
1 twst Lemon peel (As garnish)
Instructions

Stir, straight up, cocktail glass, garnish.

History

I wanted to create an autumnal cocktail that made use of apple liqueur. I came up with this on October 8, the same day that the early steam locomotive "Stephenson's Rocket" proved itself in the Rainhill Trials in Lancashire, England, 1829.
