3⁄4 oz Spanish brandy
3⁄4 oz Puerto Rican Rum, Don Q Añejo
3⁄4 oz Amaro (Amaro Angeleno)
1⁄2 oz Manzanilla sherry (Float)
1 Orange peel (as garnish)
Instructions
Stir brandy, rum, Amaro Angeleno, and sweet vermouth over a large rock of ice. Float Manzanilla sherry on top. Garnish with an orange swath cut into a pinwheel
Notes
Created using Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva, Don Q Anejo, and Amaro Angeleno. Amaro Angeleno was a specific choice due to its flavor profile, but if you have to substitute it, use a bitter amaro that tastes predominantly of oranges.
History
Creation was inspired by a talk given by a Don Q brand ambassador, where they mentioned the name and logo were based on Don Quixote, hence the use of Don Q over another aged rum.
