1 1⁄2 oz Bourbon, Old Forester 100
1 oz Pumpkin liqueur (Vapor Distilling "Pumpkin King")
1⁄4 oz Lemon juice
Instructions

Stir over ice and strain. Serve neat.

Notes

Feel free to substitute rye if you want a spicy counterpunch instead of the complimentary sweetness of bourbon.

History

The name of this autumnal cocktail is an homage to Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Hal Boyle's 1952 ode to the month of October. A month in which, he wrote:
"Everything that walks the earth feels an amber thrill, a tremendous bubbling vitality that sings in the pulse."
