1 1⁄2 oz Rye, Rittenhouse 100
1⁄2 oz Sweet vermouth
1⁄2 oz Herbal liqueur, Green Chartreuse
1⁄2 oz Bénédictine
Instructions

Stir with cracked ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Squeeze a lemon peel over the top, rub it around the rim, and drop it in.

  • Cloying is the correct word.
  • The Benedictine is a bit overpowering and contributes to a cloying sweetness. Working on ways to lighten or dry the cocktail. Perhaps a rinse or scant 1/4 oz of Fernet

I can't tell if I agree with the "cloying" reviews or if I love it. I did closer to 1 and 3/4 rye. Def. interesting and would make again. But If I made a change I can't tell what it would be.
