1 1⁄2 oz Blanco tequila, El Tesoro Platinum
3⁄4 oz Dry vermouth, Ransom
1⁄2 oz Cassis, Mathilde
1⁄4 oz Ancho Reyes Verde chile liqueur
1 ds Bitters, Bittermens Xocolatl Mole
1 twst Orange peel (as garnish, or expressed and discarded)
1 Bing Cherry (as garnish)
Instructions

Stir; strain; up; twist; garnish.

History

The name, from an excellent and sardonic Steely Dan song/album, plays on "Kir Royale," perhaps the best known mixed drink employing cassis. Instead of playing up cassis's tart and regal qualities, this drink digs into its more earthy underside.
