Madininha
With slices: muddle with salt to draw out juice, rest, shake, double strain, up, garnish with cucumber slice. With juice: shake, strain, up, garnish.
Named for "Madinina," an old name for Martinique, meaning "Isle of Flowers."
Happy National Rum Day.
- Juiced with the skin on this was just beautiful green in the glass. Otherwise simple but solid.
- Like a more interesting daiquiri (but the bit of salt from the muddling also brought a margarita to mind). Nice use of agricole.
- Accessible and refreshing. Cuke is complemented by melony/pear flavors from the St. Germain and bright tropical fruit.
- Castawry — Martinique Rum, Falernum, Coconut Water, Lime juice, Lime
- Dale Caña — Rhum Agricole, Rum, Crème de Banane, Lime juice, Cinnamon syrup, Oleo-saccharum
- Her Majesty's Pearl — Rhum Agricole, Cognac, Elderflower liqueur, Lemon juice, Simple syrup, Rose water
- The Natives Are Restless Tonight — Rhum Agricole, Absinthe, Grapefruit juice, Lime juice, Pineapple Gum Syrup
- Summer's Rathbone — Gin, Basil eau-de-vie, Falernum, Lemon juice, Cucumber
Made w/ Smith & Cross (not sure if that's an appropriate sub), and a cucumber simple syrup. Had to boost the lime, but a great drink
Glad you liked it! Smith & Cross doesn't taste like a white agricole, but it checks off the important agricole boxes of strong, earthy, and funky, so I can see why it worked here.
