  • Muddling and straining take a while but well worth it. Added 1 TBL simple syrup to 3 drinks in shaker. 1-2TBL seems right for simple syrup. — ★★★★★
  • Made this with Paririe gin and Ferrand dry curacao. Cranberries were a spoonful of cranberry-syrup-solids rather than fresh. Did not have ginger, but didn't miss it. Very tasty, a refreshing profile in the winter.
  • Really tasty, better than the plain cranberry gin smash that was a previous favorite. — ★★★★

The linked recipe adds superfine sugar or simple syrup to the muddle. I made it without and thought it very nice and balanced without the additional sweetener.

  • Made with Green Spot, very tasty — ★★★★
  • Made with Teeling.
  • Tastes pretty much as expected. Strong, but nice, delicate, candy-like flavors, with a nice accent from the rosemary. Good, strong wintry drink
  • Made it w/ Bourbon by mistake. Loved it.

Excellent cocktail. One of my recent favorites. Note: It's not good when you run out of Irish whiskey and try to sub in blended scotch.

  • Used a cherry garnish in place of the cherry bitters. Intriguing taste. Biggest demerit was the cloudy gray color (at least when made with R&W violette like I did).

Excellent variation! I made it with Vedrenne Violette Parfait Amour instead of Bitter Truth's creme de violette and it tasted much better and more balanced than traditional recipes. The color was nice sky blue too.
