  • This is the best Amaro Abano drink I’ve found. Intense. Dark. Quite good. 2nd time: Even better. Maybe a touch easier on the Abano. Great drink!

*Brown Butter Washed Pumpkin Spirit: 1/4 pound of butter browned. Gently pour into vessel with pumpkin spirit and whisk until the butter comes to room temperature. Place vessel in freezer until butter solidifies. Pour spirit through cheese cloth and re bottle.

** Trifecta Bitters: 2 parts Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters, 1 part Bittercube Barrel Aged Blood Orange Bitters, 1 part Bittercube Blackstrap Bitters.

A Scotch Brown Derby that actually predates that cocktail by a few years, first appearing in 1927's Here's How by Judge Jr., and reappearing (with a call for generic "whisky") in the Savoy. The original calls for 1/2 part Scotch to 1/4 part each grapefruit juice and honey, which many modern palates (mine included) find cloying.
