Mills Ave Manhattan
In a mixing glass combine all ingredients. With bar spoon stir until cold and pour over large ice cube. Drop in cherry and finish with a flaming orange peel.
This cocktail was invented on Mills Ave at the Turansky household! Its a riff on the original manhattan.
- Solid Manhattan variation. Made with Wild Turkey. Could stand up to more overproof. Would also like to try with Maraska.
- Heathen VC — Rye, Armagnac, Sweet vermouth, Triple sec, Bitters, Absinthe
- Country Life #2 — Bourbon, Sweet vermouth, Jamaican rum, Bitters, Orange peel
- Country Life — Bourbon, Jamaican rum, Port, Orange bitters, Orange peel
- Bittersweet Romance — Rye, Sweet vermouth, Ramazzotti, Apricot liqueur, Bitters
- Floridita Special — Rye, Sweet vermouth, Amer Picon, Triple sec, Bitters, Sugar
Curator's note: with an overproof barrel-strength bourbon this is quite potent, but tasty. Probably best to stick to a 100 or 101. It might not hurt to shave off a bit more proof with Fee Brothers orange bitters and Old Fashion Aromatic (not whiskey barrel aged bitters).
