Stir with ice, strain into a rocks glass with ice, and garnish with an orange twist.
In thinking about the combination of apricot and Campari for a drink of the day at Loyal Nine, I selected whiskey as the base spirit, and the idea of crossing a Slope with a Boulevardier came to me.
- Used 1.25 oz Evan Williams single barrel bourbon, 1 dash Bitter Truth aromatic bitters, otherwise same. Nice interplay between sweet and bitter. Rate 4.5 if I could.
- Might try the dried out version mentioned in comments, but to spec the sweetness though foregrounded did not wear on me. Rewarding second level of complexity past the bittersweet.
- Use 50/50 Punt e Mes and dry vermouth
- Novecento — Cognac, Sweet vermouth, Campari, Maraschino Liqueur, Bitters, Peychaud's Bitters, Lemon juice, Lemon peel
- The Adams — Bourbon, Campari, Sweet vermouth, Kummel, Bitters
- Boulevardier (Cure version) — Rye, Sweet vermouth, Campari, Orange peel
- Boulevard des Rêves — Bourbon, Sweet vermouth, Campari, Rum
- New Pal — Rye, Campari, Sweet vermouth, Absinthe, Peychaud's Bitters, Orange peel
Really excellent. With Rothman and Winter, it was a touch sweet. Some dry vermouth yielded a warm, balanced and still rich cocktail. Defintely would make again.
Reduced Punt e Mes to 0.75 oz the second time around. Worked a bit better.
