1⁄4 oz Ginger syrup (spicy)
1 spg Mint (as garnish)
Instructions

Build in a julep cup, topping with crushed ice and garnishing with a slapped sprig of mint. Insert straws among the mint and serve.

  • Made with Olympia, and skinny syrup measure per comments. Nice texture, but the tastes somewhat cancel each other out. Maybe a London dry was the wrong gin to use here. Reminds me of citrus pulp.
  • Tasty and refreshing. A nice spring cocktail, but with some depth - not frivolous. The Chartreuse is pretty prominent. I muddled pineapple and substituted a teaspoon of powdered sugar and a splash of water for the simple. — ★★★★★

Instructions

Muddle strawberry gently, then shake with all other ingredients and ice. Double-strain into chilled glass.

Second time I made this, I lowered St-Germain to .75, that helps. Also muddled with 3 black peppercorns to give it a touch of spiciness. *****

4.5/5, rounding up. I mostly skip elderflower (and cynar) drinks as being overdone/overused. But in this case the elderflower brings out the best of the fresh strawberry, balanced by the lemon juice. The strawberry is amped up in a pleasant way which the Junipero stands up to. The elderflower is there but does not dominate. Lovely color, nose, and flavor.

I'd like to like this. Much too sweet as written for my taste. I increased the Bourbon to 2oz and cut the 1/2 amari to 1/4 oz. Probably should cut the Fernet to a dash. The bitters aren't specified, so I used Bokers. I found the result nice, but a bit orange-forward. I think I'd use either Brigallet or Cio Ciaro, but not both. Rye might help with the sugar balance. I think this is a fun drink, but it needs more development, IMO.
