1 1⁄2 oz Vodka
1 oz Orgeat
1⁄2 oz Lemon juice (fresh)
1⁄2 oz Greek yogurt
2 sli Cucumber
1 Cucumber (ribbon, as garnish)
1 pn Smoke (as garnish)
Instructions

Muddle cucumber slices, shake all ingredients. Rocks. Garnish.

History

I was recently reminded of the Up Jumped the Devil and was inspired to riff on it. That drink featured the mezcal-rhum agricole combination that I was first introduced to in the Chantico and Wilhelm Scream at Craigie on Main, and I have used a few times. Instead of the Cynar-Green Chartreuse duo in the Up Jumped the Devil, I opted for the apricot-Benedictine one that I first noted in the Silk Road Sour and utilized in drinks like the Bedford Nest. For a name, I stayed with the original's Nick Cave concept and dubbed this one Stranger than Kindness.

I made this last night - it's decent, but the cognac gets stepped on (mainly) by the Campari. It does have a Crusta feel from the lemon + maraschino which is pleasant. Next time, I'd either pick something big and boozy for the cognac or reduce the Campari. Thanks, Zachary

2 oz Gin, Beefeater
3⁄4 oz Aromatized wine, Cocchi Americano
1⁄2 oz Herbal liqueur, Yellow Chartreuse
Instructions

Stir over ice, strain into coupe, no garnish.

Notes

2 dashes of bitters makes it a little more spicy, can dial back to 1 if desired.

History

I had an open bottle of Cocchi Americano and wanted to make something fun with it. I started by swapping out the specs for a Dale Degroff Bijou (green chartreuse for yellow, red vermouth for Cocchi) and thereafter upped the quantity of gin + Cocchi to give a bit more balance.

Instructions

1. Muddle the dragonfruit to get it very mooshy.
2. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake very vigorously.
3. Semi-strain into a frozen coupe glass ....... you want some of the dragonfruit seeds in the glass.

Notes

1. I wanted liquid during the muddle, but it doesn't happen. Therefore get it very muddled so that flavor & color are extracted during shaking.
2. A very "soft" flavor. The dragonfruit seeds make for a nice "textural garnish" of sorts.
3. A beautiful red color.
