Jakartian Peardition
Shake, strain into coupe, up.
Came across this looking for Arrack drinks. From Guillermo Bravo of New York’s The NoMad Bar.
- Works well with calvados instead of pear brandy
- Note - original uses pear brandy, not liqueur; see reference when making
- Marlin — Light rum, Martinique Rum, Maraschino Liqueur, Blue Curaçao, Orgeat, Lemon juice, Lime juice
- Arrack and a Hard Place — Batavia Arrack, Jamaican rum, Triple sec, Amaretto, Bitters, Lime juice
- Dopo Cena (Framboise variant) — Amaretto, Framboise, Maraschino Liqueur, Bitters, Lemon juice, Cherry, Egg white
- Alchemist (Sam Fraser) — Mezcal, Maraschino Liqueur, Suze, Lime juice, Orgeat
I'm intrigued enough to try. Question about the pear liqueur you list vs pear brandy spec on the Punch site. That'd certainly affect the sweetness, no? What did you use?
Corrected the recipe from "pear liqueur" to "pear eau de vie" and the called for Clear Creek. The previous commenter is correct, pear brandy and pear liqueur can differ greatly. Unfortunately, "pear brandy" currently is listed as an alias for pear liqueur, when pear brandy is instead ambiguous because it could refer to a drier brandy or eau de vie, while pear liqueur is by nature sweetened. It could take some time to untangle this in other recipes.
