  • A bit sweet, but balanced with herbal and lemon oils. Nice use of yellow chartreuse without being overwhelming.

Agree with other comment. Pretty sweet but pleasant and herbal.

  • Tart and balanced with a little bitterness, sweetness. Almost too drinkable. Like a more complex Cloister. I'd like to try upping the herbalness in that direction.
  • Nicole likes it
  • Have subbed in Cointreau when out of Chartreuse, not the same, but it worked.
  • Love the tang of grapefruit against the pungent herbs of gin and Chartreuse. Try also with Muse Verte
  • Tasty and well balanced. — ★★★★★

Rafa,

Got it. As an aside, this is why it's so important to properly cite the creator, year and location a drink was first made. Imagine if people took good notes back pre-Prohibition. We'd know a lot more about cocktails today than we do.  Thanks,  Zachary

This is a really good drink.  Balance is right; it's one garnish or substitution or bitters away from being a classic.

  • I used Tangueray Rangpur. Also the 1.75 oz gin and 0.75 oz lime. Very good. I think the celery bitters are important but haven't actually tried it with the orange.
  • Like a Diet Last Word. Straightforward and extremely easy to drink.
  • Shift lime juice to 0.75 oz, gin to 1.75 oz
  • Surprisingly dry and refreshing. Uncomplicated. Good, but not spectacular.
  • Forced to use orange bitters, but tasting it I can imagine celery bitters working really well.

  • Has the look and mouthfeel of a Midori sour and the taste of... just Chartreuse really. But that's OK!
  • Also make it without the lime juice
  • No GIn, Rum!
