Hop City

1 oz Gin
1 oz Aperol
1 oz Falernum, Velvet Falernum
1 oz Lemon juice
1 oz India Pale Ale
Instructions

Add first four ingredients to a shaker tin, add ice, shake, before straining into glass, add last ingredient and swirl contents in tin to mix. Strain into a collins glass, add fresh ice. Garnish with a pretty mint bouquet.

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, stir for 30 revolutions. Strain into a double old fashioned glass over a large block of ice. Garnish with an orange twist.

Quite nice and an intelligent combination. 4.5/5, but I'm going to bump it to 5 because I enjoyed it that much and it is different. Has substantial pine/spruce bitterness, but this marries well with the sweetness of the Cocchi and the less aggressive bourbon (as compared to the pepperiness of a rye which would likely be too much when paired with the others.)
