Notes

Alternate recipe: muddle 3 cucumber slices in shaker, add absinthe and simple syrup, ice and shake, strain into iced Collins glass and add 2 oz water. Stir and garnish with additional cucumber slices.

  • Good, fruity. Made with 3/4 oz of lime juice - personally, I wouldn't have wanted it any sweeter than it was with that quantity. I did also use R&W apricot which might be sweeter than Bitter Truth.

This drink is delicious! I've tried it both with Nikka Coffey Grain, and with the cheaper Suntory Toki, and it was fantastic both ways! It's definitely a crowd-pleaser, but it's still complex enough for more seasoned cocktail fans. Highly recommended if you've got the ingredients.

Silver Lining

1 1⁄2 oz Rye
3⁄4 oz Lemon juice

Instructions

Dry shake then shake first four ingredients. Strain into long-ice-cube filled Collins. Top with soda, let foam settle, then add more soda to raise froth above the lip of the glass.
