Desert Healer
Shake gin, Cherry Heering, and juice with ice before pouring into a highball. Top with ginger ale.
Garnish with a cherry if desired.
- Amma liked it
- Fizzy and refreshing. Would work well as a brunch cocktail. I might try it with less ginger ale next time--it overpowers the other flavors a bit.

A. J. Rathbun in Ginger Fizz and the Violet Fizz has 2 oz gin, 1 oz Cherry Heering, and an indeterminate amount of orange juice. Unlikely to make much difference.
Oddly reminiscent of a Singapore Sling, despite using orange juice vs. pineapple juice, plus all of the other differences. About a 3.5. Helps to have excellent fresh Washington navel oranges on a tree out back, I suspect that much of the dislike folks express for orange juice cocktails arises from the source/quality of the juice. You can't get this flavor out of concentrate, packaged juice, or many of the oranges that make it to the store.
