1 ds Herbal liqueur, Pernod
Instructions

Stir/strain/one giant rock/lemon zest

Notes

1-2 dashes of Pernod is sufficient. 3 seems to take over the drink.

  • Nice sweet/gin/herbal balance. Used 3 ds of Peychaud's bitters rather than Pernod.
  • How many drops of Pernod equal a dash? Perhaps a rinsed glass would be easier. What about using Absinthe instead of Pernod. Used 8 drops of Absinthe. Rate 4

Quick question - Laird's Applejack is 80 proof, not bonded. The picture (I think) shows the 100 proof Bonded apple brandy. Is what you're using here?

I used Wisniowka (Polish Cherry Cordial) and Angostura Bitters. It's got a sweet/sour taste to it, and combination of the orange/lime/bitters gives the taste of grapefruit. Rather enjoyed it!


Carpool

3⁄4 oz Brandy (Cheap American VSOP)
3⁄4 oz Apple brandy, Lairds 7.5 (or Calvados)
3⁄4 oz Curaçao, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao
3⁄4 oz Lemon juice
Instructions

Shake with ice, strain into cocktail glass. If desired, garnish with lemon twist or wedge.

Notes

I used Paul Masson VSOP, but I imagine E&J, Christian Brothers, etc. will work just as well...

I missed on first reading that this calls for Laird's 7.5 year - I used regular Laird's bonded and it was very, very dry.
