- Tart and balanced with a little bitterness, sweetness. Almost too drinkable. Like a more complex Cloister. I'd like to try upping the herbalness in that direction.

- Have subbed in Cointreau when out of Chartreuse, not the same, but it worked.
- Love the tang of grapefruit against the pungent herbs of gin and Chartreuse. Try also with Muse Verte

Got it. As an aside, this is why it's so important to properly cite the creator, year and location a drink was first made. Imagine if people took good notes back pre-Prohibition. We'd know a lot more about cocktails today than we do. Thanks, Zachary
This is a really good drink. Balance is right; it's one garnish or substitution or bitters away from being a classic.
