McClassic
Combine all ingredients in shaker stir. Add essential oils from lemon peel and garnish with luxardo cherry
- very earthy and fairly strong but still rather tasty
- All around good cocktail with bitterness, depth and satisfying finish. Similar to Negroni in overall profile, which is a compliment.
- 4.5: Nice combination - bitterness grows nicely/gradually from sweetness after a sip. I used just shy of an oz of Sibilia and just proud of 1/2 oz of Cherry Heering per suggestion.
- Tart
- Delicious. Similar to a Red Hook. Try 1 oz Sibilia and 1/2 Cherry Heering.
- Used a portuguese cherry brandy I had and worked well.
- Aviary's Bitter — Brandy, Apple brandy, Bonal Gentiane Quina, Amaro Nonino, Lorenzo Inga My Amaro, Peychaud's Bitters
- Sucker in a 3 (three) piece — Cognac, Rye, Averna, Bénédictine, Bitters, Lemon peel, Orange peel
- Sakura Sakura — Bourbon, Amaro Sibilla, Maraschino Liqueur, Kirschwasser, Bitters
- Rouge et Noir — Rye, Averna, Cherry Liqueur, Bitters, Peychaud's Bitters, Cherry
- Night Tripper — Bourbon, Averna, Strega, Peychaud's Bitters, Orange peel
Agree with the 1 oz Sibilla and 1/2 Cherry Heering. The overall profile is similar to a Negroni (complex bitterness with satisfying finish), which is a compliment
Excellent, but quite potent. The equal parts Heering and Sibilla complement one another well. This is a great vehicle for appreciating Sibilla. I didn't see the garnish (lemon twist-discarded?-and Luxardo cherry) until later so they were inadvertently omitted. I might serve this over a large rock next time to make it more of a slow sipper.
