A bittered Pompadour playing off Bonal's similarity to Pineau des Charentes and affinity for Jamaican rum, named for a Bette Davis film where she sports that hairstyle. Sort of a Patois crossed with a Mai Tai as well.
- Thou Shall Not be Named — Reposado Tequila, Mezcal, Amaro, Aromatized wine, Lemon
- Per Umberto — Trinidad rum, Cynar, Campari, Meyer lemon juice
- Marseille, July 4th, 1895 — Byrrh, Demerara Rum, Gran Classico, Cherry Liqueur, Pelinkovac, Cognac, Bitters, Grenadine, Rose water, Lactart
- Rum River Mystic — Rye, Rum, Byrrh, Bénédictine, Bitters
- Repo Man — Reposado Tequila, Jägermeister, Branca Menta, Mezcal, Orange bitters, Orange peel
Meh...sorry to be a downer but this didn't work for me. I used Depaz rhum agricole, Appleton 12, Bonal, and Bitterman's Xocolatl Mole and it just felt like a bad mix. Maybe a different run would have helped - perhaps something stronger like Smith & Cross. IN the end it just seemed like a good idea, with some ingredients I love that nonetheless came across as somehow being "off." Certainly not undrinkable, but not something I'd make again, or recommend.
