Sculaccione

3⁄4 oz Lime juice
1⁄2 oz Campari
1⁄2 oz Simple syrup
Instructions

Shake and strain into an old fashioned glass over fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

Some may prefer 2:1 sugar syrup. Agave nectar would probably work well too.

This is similar to a Siesta (https://kindredcocktails.com/cocktail/siesta).

Fragola Rock

1 1⁄2 oz Aromatized wine, Cocchi Americano
1 oz Gin
3⁄4 oz Strawberry shrub
1 oz Soda water (to top)
1 twst Grapefruit peel (as garnish)
1 Strawberry (as garnish)
Instructions

Stir all but soda, strain onto big rock in a DOF (or onto cracked ice in a wine glass), top with soda, briefly stir, express grapefruit twist and garnish with it and/or a strawberry.

Notes

For the shrub, the Serious Eats cold-process works well, in this case calling for 1c strawberries, 1c sugar, and 1c red wine vinegar or cider vinegar.

History

"Fragola" is Italian for strawberry.

  • Refreshing and tasty! Thank you for sharing. I didn't have grapefruit one time, so I floated maybe about 1/8 ounce of pamplemousse liquor on it and it was also tasty.
  • Citrus juice (lemon and grapefruit) comes through though it's not present. Light, accessible. — ★★★★

Tasty. I also used this to try out my homemade allspice dram. I made the mistake of using a lighter rum and I think the rum choice made the cocktail feel like it was lacking something - it was "missing a middle-range".

needs some simple syrup to live up to "Creamsicle" - also need double recipe to fill a normal coupe
