Hurly-Burly
Shake with ice & strain into a cocktail glass
- Very nice. Bracingly tart, disarmlingly complex, and just sweet enough. Nothing but the lemon is immediately recognizable but it's all there.
- Hoop La — Brandy, Triple sec, Aromatized wine, Lemon juice
- Crux — Cognac, Triple sec, Aromatized wine, Lemon juice
- Corpse Reviver variation #8 — Bourbon, Orange Curaçao, Aromatized wine, Lemon juice, Lemon peel
- Kentucky Corpse Reviver — Bourbon, Orange Curaçao, Aromatized wine, Lemon juice, Mint
- Blood in Your Whiskers — Scotch, Cherry Liqueur, Sweet vermouth, Dry vermouth, Orange bitters, Orange juice, Lemon juice, Orange peel
Taste mostly Montenegro.

Really good equal parts cocktail. One of the best things at tamping down the cloying note of cognac that I tend to dislike and nice balance and interesting almost cola -like evolution.
I forgot that this one was "mine" -- I always attribute the initial idea to Paul Manzelli at Bergamot in Somerville, MA, who made me a 5 part Hoop La riff that I felt needed a little work. I went home and made it again but dropping the orange liqueur to what's published here.
