Might try with orgeat instead of simple syrup.

Made this up for our fabulous, tequila-loving hostess after work and before a one year anniversary party.

  • Made w/ homemade blackberry liqueur. Not bad in any way but also not particularly coherent. I'm not sure anything in this drink really goes with anything else.

Instructions

Stir with ice; garnish with orange twist.

Notes

The Gamle Ode Celebration aquavit has a sweeter, smoother nose than other varieties. Dill and caraway with juniper and vanilla.

The maple syrup is saying hi from across the room at 1/4 oz; it's giving you a hearty hug at 1/2oz.

History

I had to finish the end of a bottle of maple syrup before I could open the next one, and, so, cocktail. I said "I feel kinda herby" and, so, aquavit.

Not too sweet at all with Combier kümmel, but your mileage may vary.



Blown Rose

3 sli Apple (Fuji)
2 oz Rye, Old Overholt (Chamomille-infused)
1⁄2 oz Pineapple juice
1⁄2 oz Lime juice
1⁄2 oz Cinnamon syrup
Instructions

Muddle the apple slices, add the remaining ingredients and shake with ice. Double strain into a coupe, garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

1/4 cup of loose chamomille in one liter bottle of Old overholt, stir well, strain well after 1 hour and 45 minutes
