Shake. Strain.
Curated this slightly - added source citation. This is a minor variation on a modern "anti-Roses" Gimlet.
Thanks,

Add ingredients to shaker. Add ice and shake until the outside frosts. Double strain. Lime twist garnish.

Used grapefruit bitters instead of the Boston and a lemon peel instead of lime. It's great - kind of reminds me of a limoncello or a 20th Century - but you really really really need that peel to cut through the sweetness and maraschino.
Stir, strain, up, chilled coupe.
The original has Bonal in place of the Salers.

Fernet overpowers the drink, might be best to reduce it in half.
In my opinion, Fernet Branca is overhyped and often (mis)used in cocktails where the menthol overpowers the drink. That's great if you love Fernet Branca - but not the point of making a cocktail, in my opinion. Since the instructions for this drink simply say "Fernet" (as does the original, although its accompanying picture shows a bottle of Fernet Branca) I decided that one could choose whatever type of Fernet one liked, and I used Fernet Vallet, which bumped this up from three stars to a weak four stars for me. I also used Bonal as in the original.
Stir, strain, one big rock.
Stir over ice in a Collins glass
Made this one for my red-headed New England hockey player friend
Add all ingredients to an ice filled shaker and put a motion in the ocean. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a wedge of lime
A twist on the classic Lion's Tail substituting rum for the bourbon, upping the lime juice and adding the bitters
Vintage cocktails and lost spirits
Shake, strain into a hurricane glass over crushed ice, garnish with orange wedges and a brandied cherry, serve with straw.
Hurricane riff.
Just made a glass of this. Delicious. Despite a large amount of non-alcoholic ingredients, it never feels diluted or washed out, and the rum shines through very nicely.
Combine liquid ingredients and crushed ice in blender, blend on high 5 seconds. Pour into frosty pre-chilled metallic or tiki mug. Garnish with grated nutmeg and cinnamon stick.
As served in Don the Beachcomber's, 1960s.
