Marais
Stir with cracked ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

- Went with the CioCiaro sub for Amer Picon - worked. Compared applejack to Calvados - Calvados wins.
- Bel-ami — Dry apricot brandy, Suze, Herbal liqueur
- Widow's Kiss (PDT) — Apple brandy, Herbal liqueur, Bénédictine, Bitters, Cherry
- How Do I Compare — Apple brandy, Bourbon, Bénédictine, Triple sec, Apple bitters, Orange peel
- Town Crier — Calvados, Añejo rum, Sweet vermouth, Bénédictine, Peychaud's Bitters, Lemon peel
- Bitter Apple — Apple brandy, Aromatized wine, Galliano
This sure looks good, even if it wasn't named after me =) But where does one find Amer Picon?
Rob,
Either my house, or make Amer Boudreau or wait for the Bittermens version of Amer Picon, which ought to be close.
Hi Rob,
Amer Picon is not currently imported into the States and is therefore tough to find. Two good substitutes are Torani Amer and CioCiaro.
Happy Day! Bittermen's Amere Nouvelle is now being distributed. I haven't seen it yet in the Boston area, but DrinkUpNY has it for NYC and mail order (into those states that can). Also, if you click the Amer Picon link in the recipe, you'll find similar information to these comments.
Hi,
A good substitute for Amer Picon is Bigallet's China-China, which I believe is exported to the U.S.

Used Laird's and New Liberty's "Liberty Belle American Picon", tasty. Would maybe add the tiniest splash of syrup next time, which Goldenmoon's Amer Picon attempt also needs in most drinks
