Forbidden Sun
Shake and strain over rocks and sip, or into two shot glasses and shoot.
This is what I make people who ask for shots of Fireball. Optionally, infuse the bourbon with chile de arbol for more bite.

- Muddled a handful of Cocoa Pebbles with the lemon and mint instead of infusing.
This was such a fun brunch drink to offer with a horrible pour cost. Yes, towards the end when it was leaving the menu in a few weeks, we muddled Cocoa Puffs to order.

Awesome summer drink, thanks for posting. My armagnac is marie duffau, and I used a mirabelle plum brandy. Next time I'll try my clear creek slivovitz- it's heavier and funkier and I think it would work well too. Worth the hassle of having to unclog plum pulp from the strainer a couple times.

Cassingle Revival #2
Shake, strain, up.
- Bracingly tart in a way that earns the name. A nice fruity and spicy alternative to the more common herbal equal-4-parts Last Word-esque cocktails. (4.5)
- Used lime juice. With lime, could reduce the amount to, say, 1/2 oz, to let the drambuie shine. However the tarntness was delicious, making a slightly herbal whiskey sour.
- Sour lemon zest flavor dominates. Pleasing complexity underneath.
- Sidecar — Cognac, Triple sec, Lemon juice, Orange peel, Sugar
- Pearl Handle Gun — Rye, Allspice Dram, Absinthe, Hibiscus cordial, Lemon juice, Grapefruit juice

I used Meyer lemon juice. Excellent! In the neighborhood of a Sidecar, but more balanced.

- The tiny does of my cheap blue curacao cheapened the color but not really the flavor of this. Even still, this "improved" Aviation isn't necessarily an improvement.
