Mis-rememberd recipe and used Kina L'Avion instead of Cocchi. Turned out great.

8stringfan commented on 11/14/2015:

Not bad.  I used Havana Club since the original called for pre-embargo Cuban Bacardi.  I think it would have been better wiih the richer demerara or a funky Jamaican run.

I used 1.5 oz of gran classico, 0.5 oz tequila, and 1 oz mezcal. For some great spice, add one or two shakes of cayenne.

Loved this one too, lowered ratio of lemon a touch (1 oz is way too much for me) and subbed Plum bitters (didn't come out the bottle as freely as I hoped so upped it to 3 dashes). Lovely melange of floral, fruity and sour, would do well with Hendricks if you're a floral lover (as I am!)

Adirondack

2 oz Gin, Aviation
1 bsp Gin, St. George Terroir
1 bsp Root liqueur, Art in the Age
3 dr Blackstrap Bitters, Bittercube
12 oz White Birch Beer (*)
Instructions

Build in a half liter mug with ice; stir and enjoy

Notes

*I used Appalachian Brewing Company's White Birch Beer because the touch of honey gives the drink a fuller flavor

History

I love the teaberry flavor that birch beer has, and the Indian sarsaparilla found in the Aviation Gin and Root are perfect partners. The Terroir gives just enough "piney" flavor to keep it interesting
