3⁄4 oz Ginger syrup
2 oz Tea (Earl Grey, strong)
Instructions

Shake all but tea and strain over rocks into a Collins glass. Top with tea and garnish with a lemon wheel and candied ginger.

About Face

1 1⁄2 oz Kummel, Gilka
1⁄2 oz Simple syrup
1⁄2 oz Gin, Citadelle
3⁄4 oz Lemon juice
3 Raspberry
1 Egg yolk
Instructions

Build in a shaker, adding yolk last and giving it a dry shake. Shake hard quickly then strain into a collins glass. Fill with crushed ice.

Notes

Reminds me of a Golden Age cocktail from the VH days. Combier Kummel works too but has even more caraway and I think it a bit much.

  • Interesting! Used Berliner Kümmel, which didn't overwhelm. For syrup, rich (2:1) seems right.
  • Interesting and challenging. Made using a different Kummel that may have been too strong. I found this one weirdly medicinal. I'd try it again with Gilka but don't feel a super strong need to.
