No Moon At All

2 oz Gin
1⁄4 oz Crème de Cacao
1⁄4 oz Chambord
1⁄2 oz Lemon juice
Instructions

Dry shake for 10 seconds. Add crushed ice and shake throughly. Strain into a coupe.

Notes

My variation on a Sweet Moonlight - guessing on the proportions of the original and replacing the cassis with Chambord.

  • Used St George terrior gin (2.25 oz). Will use Fords gin (2.5 oz) next time because the creme liqueurs make the drink too sweet and overwhelm other flavors. As is, rate 3.0

A bit too bitter and not as fruity as I'd have expected, could probably do with a bit of syrup, or increase quantity of liqueurs. Tastes much better and sweeter if slowly sipped..



Basin Street Blues

1 oz Amaro Nardini (bassano)
1⁄2 oz Orange juice
1⁄2 oz Lemon juice
1⁄2 oz Simple syrup (made using sugar in the raw)
3 dr Scotch, Laphroaig Quarter Cask (as garnish)
Instructions

1. Shake with ice. Strain into a coupe.
2. Garnish: 3 drops Laphroaig Quarter Cask scotch.

Catch Me If You Can

1⁄2 oz Cassis, Mathilde
1 twst Orange peel (or orange slice, as garnish)
Instructions

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass (there should be some nice foam on top) and garnish with an orange wheel or peel.

Notes

This is a variation on The Blood and Sand which was named after a Rudolph Valentino movie, so I decided to name this drink after a modern movie. Leonardo DiCaprio is a past winner of Italy's Valentino award, so I chose "Catch Me If You Can." This recipe substitutes cranberry for orange juice and creme de cassis for cherry brandy. I halved the liqueur from the Blood and Sand to cut the sweetness down and used Punt e Mes to amp up the bitter notes.

Muddle rosemary, add ingredients over ice and shake well. Pour in chilled cocktail glass, garnish with grapefruit peel.

  • Tasty, summery. Type of tequila wasn't specified, so used blanco. Might try with reposado next time, but as is, straddles nice line between sweet and bitter.

Agave nectar and pinch of truffle salt in bottom of glass.
Add half orange wheel. Muddle.
Add remaining ingredients, shake with ice.
Strain over fresh ice.
Garnish with half-orange wheel and lime skin.

This drink evolves like nothing we'€™ve had. Earthy, ethereal.

Added a splash of dry curacao to sub for the orange slice. Used celtic salt instead of truffle. Was worried the sweet to tart ratio was off with 1oz of simple/agave and 1/2 oz lime juice but it worked. Earthy, ethereal, and evolving with some dilution is the right description!
