Awww. I was kinda thinking the China would be the reversed "spirit". Still, I'm oall over this, although Stagg is a bit dear. Maybe Booker's?
Booker's or Old Grand Dad 114 should do. By all means make a 2:1 China:whiskey drink and report back :-)
Stir all ingredients in an ice-filled glass and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Sweet, but interesting with effectively no base spirit.
Place 2 sprigs mint in metal julep tin. Add liquids, muddle gently and let sit 1 mintute.
Fill with crushed ice and swizzle. Garnish with 2 more mint sprigs.
Using Rare Tea Cellars mint meritage tea, 1 Tblsp per bottle of whiskey for 1 minute. 1/8th ounce of both dem and zucca sometimes need to be fat.

Soak 1 Tblsp muddled juniper berries and peel of one orange in vodka overnight then strain for juniper orange tincture.

Influenced by something made for me by Jim Romdall at Vessel in Seattle.
Build on large ice cube.
Shake tequila, (Use half a grapefruit and half a lime) grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup and bitters with ice. Pour into tall glass and top with club soda. Splash with Grand Marnier and top with Citrus Wedge
I came up with this one day while playing with a La Paloma. Be careful though, it goes down pretty easy follwed by a few others.

Lightly muddle mint in lime and syrup, add Chartreuse, shake with ice and strain over fresh ice, top with soda, garnish.
Shake well and serve over big ice cube
