  • Yes, probably can skip the simple. Mocha-like finish is the best part of this. A lemon twist would be in order here.

The simple in this makes no sense to me. In a regular Toronto it is used because there is relatively little sugar in Fernet. But Cynar has lots of sugar. Might be better without added syrup.

I thought the same when I saw the recipe (though it's worth noting that the quantity of simple is cut down here). If I get around to some A/B testing I'll report back!

(This also seems like something I'd stir rather than shake.)

Instructions

Lightly muddle mint in simple. Add other ingredients and shake with ice. Double strain and serve up.

Griotte Fizz

2 oz Beach Plum Gin, Greenhook Ginsmiths
3⁄4 oz Lime juice
2 oz Club soda (to top)
Instructions

Add ice to a high ball glass. Add ingredients. Top off with sparkling water or club soda. Stir and enjoy.

1⁄2 oz Fino sherry

  • Very unexpected and unique drink. When you first sip, its all sweet and fruity, and then the gin and sage together come in to add a bitter finish that is really refreshing, and makes you go back in for more.
  • Very good - 4.5. Enjoyed the sage.

Dandelion Cocktail (Miker)

1 1⁄4 oz Pisco
3⁄4 oz Vodka (dandelion tincture, see notes)
1⁄2 oz Honey
10 dr Vodka (lemon verbena tincture, see notes)
Instructions

Dry shake, shake with ice, strain into cocktail coupe, flower garnish

Notes

For tinctures, cover the plant in 100 proof vodka for 1-6 weeks, then strain through cheesecloth. For dandelion use only the yellow part of the flower, cut off all the green part. For lemon verbena, use only the leaves.
